Dr Kiera Vaclavik: Project Leader
Kiera is Senior Lecturer in French and Comparative Literature at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and has published widely in the field of children's literature and culture from the mid nineteenth century to the present day.
Aneesh Barai: Research Assistant
Aneesh has recently completed his doctoral thesis on British Modernist children’s literature and its translation into French. He is one of the organisers of the Children's Literature/Children's Lives research cluster.
Josie Smith: Garment creator
Josie is a Technical and Creative Pattern Cutter and Grader, currently working for Roksanda Ilincic. She also has a background within academia as a Lecturer in Fashion/Textile Design on both post- and undergraduate courses.
Project partners
- The Lewis Carroll Society: co-organisers of the one-day conference, 'Alice & Fashion: 150 Years of a Style Icon' taking place on 9 May 2015. Access to the important and extensive private collections of various members of the Society has been essential to the development of the project.
- V&A Museum of Childhood: co-organisers of the 'Alice Look' exhibition which runs at the Museum from May-September 2015. The Museum also provides the venue for the 'Alice & Fashion' conference next May.
